Creating a database with videos and their transcripts is an excellent system when you’re researching as a hobby, or as a business. A few weeks ago I had offered to share this process with the gang over at (specifically )- I apologize for the delay. My life is quite busy.
Below are my super dummy proof steps - if you have questions or suggestions, please leave them below. If you’re going to complain about the quality of the videos or my dummy proofiness, I suggest you speak to Management. Management is in the kitchen cooking carne con papa y arroz blanco - a do not enter zone when I’m cooking. We love meat and potatoes in my familia.
I’m using one of my favorite researchers as an example ( ) This particular video is about Tammy Bay, who unfortunately is a victim of the horrible hospital protocols that were implemented by HHS/CDC and followed by hospitals throughout the US. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was an amazing, beautiful woman. Thank you for sharing her story, let’s keep her memory alive. (link to video is within picture above)(I did not ask Mark for permission to use his video, my apologies, Mark!)
Step 1: locate the transcript within the video (they don’t always have this option) - highlight the script and copy.
Step 2: open a new document, paste the transcript into this document. (check to make sure the entire transcript was copied & pasted, sometimes YT makes us do it more than once)
Step 3: copy the descriptive data under the video (I had to use different web browsers for the video vs the Google doc & Google sheet because Google doesn’t provide me with a transcript of YT videos, it throttles).
Step 4: paste the descriptive info into the document, copy the title and paste it into the title section (this is Google docs).
Step 5: copy the web address of the video, paste it onto the document (I had to switch from one browser then to Google, where the document and spreadsheet are kept. I won’t open my Google products in other web browsers.) (Ooops you’ll see that I frequently visit Twitch/JJ’s channel, sorry JJ the flying monkeys are going to pay you a visit.)
Step 6: copy/paste web address, title, date into a spreadsheet; if you’ve downloaded the video, include that info as well). This is my Remdesivir worksheet within my Scamdemic 2020 spreadsheet.
If you want expert advice on data storage, you can visit Housatonic.Live. I have followed his suggestions - I have backups to my backups (external drives)
.
Happy copying and pasting, y’all.

Thank you I use Evernote. Have you heard of it? I have many NOTEBOOKS on it and can access it from phone, iPad or MBPro.
I clip the video as that is one of my options, then copy the transcript and paste it in.
Works MUCH better in Safari than Chrome.
Thank you Vilma! Would you share your favorite nurturing recipe sometime? The meat and potatoes sound delicious
