Thank you for helping the algorithms boost my SS by schizophrenically posting comments here. You're in desperate need of a psychiatric intervention.
I understand your inner rage as you hadn't spoken to your mother for many years before she died. That's on you. Don't blame strangers on the web for your failures and inadequacies.
I'd just add that for the technically inclined whisper.cpp (https://github.com/ggerganov/whisper.cpp) is great for transcribing any audio with a single speaker depending on the level of detail you need.
Gabe, thank you. I need whisper for videos not on YT. I'll try it out tomorrow. I'm not techy like you, so I struggle a little. I appreciate your guidance!
Girl I have over 50k notes in my Evernote! I absolutely love it. It's a great way to "archive" web pages, articles etc before they're deleted from the web. And their search tools are fantastic. For the web pages that block Evernote, I copy & paste into a new note or I take screenshots within Evernote. Some websites that have old info on Steven Hatfill blocked Evernote, so I had to copy/paste🙄
Thank you for sharing your tips about Evernote, it's another great way to save our research. And thank you for reading my post.
Thank you for reading my post, Mrs. Breggin. I will post a recipe here. Mine is a little different from the traditional Cuban carne con papa because my Gringo likes the meat with a wine reduction (he's an outstanding cook, I'm not😉), so my version is a bit Americanized. My mom has been the cook in several successful restaurants/cafetería she's owned (Miami Beach & Calle Ocho), unfortunately I didn't inherit her natural cooking skills 😆
Where I go cross-eyed is with spreadsheets to keep track. I've been using the Notes Function on my mac, which suits my scatter-style logistics!
I had ordered a foot pedal to do my own transcripts, because not all videos have this, even on YouTube. But just today I got a notice from Amazon:
"Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. The package is being returned, and we will issue a refund [...]"
This sounds crazy to me; why would they not complete the delivery process? My suspicious mind goes immediately to speculating that the overlords don't want us transcribing things anymore!
Yes spreadsheets can be overwhelming, but I've found that when I am doing deep research, it helps me keep track of the data. I keep it simple (around 5 or 6 columns) and I save the transcripts in designated folders within my Google drive (backed up in external drives).
When searching for specific words, I search within the transcripts' folder and it saves me tons of time.
I'm going to try out the suggestion Gabe posted (I love him, he's such a good soul). If my cluttered brain can figure out how Whisper works, I'll do a dummy proof video. My ADD is off the charts, so I have to dummy proof everything 🤣🤣 the dummy proofing process is designed for me, I'm not calling anyone a dummy. I know my weaknesses😉
I'm sorry this has taken me so long, I have several research projects going on at the same time, plus client commitments.
If you want to throw ideas back and forth, we can do a Zoom call where we can share our screens. I'm happy to help you. I'm in the Southeast part of the US (Eastern timezone). Just let me know😘
This is very kind but I'm feeling overwhelmed these days and not clear as to my ultimate purpose in all this. Not to mention a recent relapse of my ME/cfs so the brain fog is a battle right now.
When Meryl Nass writes an attack piece classifying them as a glowie (as she did to me), then SH will officially be a glowie😂😂😂she was angry about my finding government data where she was against Malone's suggestion to test Anthrax vaccines on other people's kids in 2011, the year he was bragging about the Anthrax vaccines he was pimping. Ain't life great? Poison other people's kids......

Thanks for this, Vilma, very helpful. One thing that might help is that YT allows you to toggle off the timestamps on the transcript, leaving only hard returns to erase for each line. I'm sure there's a search and replace of hard returns for a space that could be done. Haven't gotten that far yet.
And I don't know if you've seen the interview of me by Housatonics Mark that you facilitated: https://www.bitchute.com/video/XhcINukF2ZV4/. I'll be posting a Substack with the link soon.
Bed time for me here, will give anyone here more info if you would like any, but quickly for now... I've been using ClipCache (https://www.xrayz.co.uk) for years and it's extremely useful for keeping track of information.
Here I did a quick search for "bribing" since I was looking for the URL for my video on how hospitals were bribed to report more C0v|d "cases", to hospitalize more people, to use run-death-is-near (Remdesivir), to intubate patients, to create bodies? (extra payout for dead people, don't forget), so as you can see from the screenshot, I searched for "bribed" and got these results.
I probably had the link in a favourite, or in my MFU (Most Frequently Used) folder, but I just decided to do the search instead.
Notice that the Window Title section will tell you the window title of the window you had taken the clip/copy from, and the application from which you copied. Also useful at the right side is the web link from which you copied, so sometimes the clip you copied is just a sentence of text, but at the end here on the right, you would see the URL from where you'd taken the clip, in case you wanted to go back to that site to gather more information.
Sometimes finding clips is made easier due to searching for around the time that you think would have added the clip, or the around the time that you remember last using the clip (in case you don't remember a keyword that helps you find the clip, you might sort by last-used date to find the clip).
You can click on the top header of the category (like date) and this will sort the clips. Sometimes you'll sort by Size or Format (type) to find something you want to re-use.
Try it to see how useful this software really is... I use it all the time.
Thank you! Does it work with videos that don't have subtitles/captions? There are a few YT videos I need transcribed - where YT isn't allowing the automatic transcription, they don't have captions. Thank you for your assistance.
Yes. As long as you have downloaded the video, you can get them transcribed. If you use whisper natively, it will generate multiple outputs (different subtitle formats) AND a text file. But if you use the various front-end GUIs, it may only generate subtitle files with timestamps.
If that's the tool you end up using, then to edit/fix them to your liking (subtitle files are just plain text files with a style), I would use a text editor that has macro recording to basically automate the deletion of lines that you don't want (basically record delete 2 lines, skip 1, then run that macro on repeat until the end of the file).
Using native whisper I generate these transcriptions.
(Navigate down to the specific talk to find the .vtt styled subtitle file. Most of the output is unedited so you'll see all the errors of AI, but it gets close enough that you can use it for searching.)
With more and more "restricted topics" being managed by Google/YT, the more important it is we learn to do this on our own.
Like anything else, there's a learning curve and it builds upon the stuff you've already learned. So you can start with the GUI tools (they have less control) and work your way up there.

I'd just add that for the technically inclined whisper.cpp (https://github.com/ggerganov/whisper.cpp) is great for transcribing any audio with a single speaker depending on the level of detail you need.
Oddly enough, the developer has ported it to work entirely in the browser, which is very neat. https://whisper.ggerganov.com/
Gabe, thank you. I need whisper for videos not on YT. I'll try it out tomorrow. I'm not techy like you, so I struggle a little. I appreciate your guidance!
Thank you I use Evernote. Have you heard of it? I have many NOTEBOOKS on it and can access it from phone, iPad or MBPro.
I clip the video as that is one of my options, then copy the transcript and paste it in.
Works MUCH better in Safari than Chrome.
